Welcome to 2022

Hi all and welcome to another year.

Hopefully you have been thinking about the start of the club on the 10th Jan, don’t forget that if you intend to enter Prints for the Jackson Trophy, you must hand them into Dave H on the Monday 10th January.

To clarify the criteria of the Jackson, you can choose 3/4 topics.

They are:

  • Architecture, which includes, buildings & structures.
  • Mono – photos any subject
  • Street Photography
  • Macro

The winner will be the person who gets the highest score of their three photos added together! Good Luck.

This is being judged by an out of club judge & this is why we need to get the prints to them prior to the competition.

The following week Mon 17th is the deadline for the Norman Trophy.

This is an external YCPG Competition and this years subject is:

Nature and Countryside, covering Birds, Animals, Flowers, Landscapes.

Our club can enter five prints and five DPI’S. Myself and two others will select the final five of each to ensure they are the best chance we have of winning this trophy.

*Please note*

No entries will be accepted if they have been previously entered in the Bell or Brigg Competitions. Please provide Phil D with memory stick for Dpi’s and usual club rules for photographs. (photo’s need to be accompanied with Dpi of the print.)

I will update you all if there are any Covid changes which will effect the meeting on the 10th and onwards. Please feel free to wear face masks if you like and like our last meeting I will ensure spacing of chairs to create a gap between you and person next to you.

Dave Hartley will be providing our entertainment for the evening of Monday 10th Jan and I’m sure will be a good evening and no doubt we can all have a chat on what you have been doing over the break and plans for this year.

Once again I and the committee work diligently to provide you with an interesting programme and we do need a few posts filled! If you fancy joining us then please approach Me for more information.

Please let’s have a good turnout for your club and not let Covid dominate our lives.
Happy New Year and Onwards & Upwards
